Chevy Vega, Chevy-Vega Body Shop Estimates

The photos to the right illustrate the condition of the vehicle to be restored, to obtain estimates for painting and body work. There are also some small dings in various areas that will need to be repaired, that are not in the photos.
The existing hatch will be replaced by a rust free part and will need to be painted the interior color on the underside.
The fenders will be replaced by the owner with reconditioned fenders. It will be necessary to sub out the removal of the front windshield to repair a rusted area in the cowl at the windshield line on the passenger side and a rust spot on the drivers side of the dashboard, and to remove the side body windows to install GT moulding on the lower side of the window frames.

Since the body was originally dipped in body color, there will also be some prep work on the underside, scraping sanding and some filler in several areas. The interior floor panels will also be painted body color.

The body has the original factory paint, and one repainted coat.

Completed painting should include sanding to bare metal, primer, base coat and clear coat. The color will be the 1974 Code 51 Bright Yellow.

Special Notes:

The intention of the owner is to restore the vehicle as a GT clone. It will be necessary to weld or use screws (see photo)
to secure clips for the application of the lower body moulding.
